DeckPlan, a Cakesmash Media company. Directed by Kyle Cassie

Someone just asked if you had a pitch deck.

Your pitch deck, built as a living website.

Someone asks for your deck and what goes out is a PDF squeezed down to email size, or a share link some of them can't open. Then you fix a page, and the old version's still out there in 10 inboxes. We give the deck a home and a link. Send it to crew, cast, producers and financiers, change it whenever you like, and everyone sees the latest version, with your pages moving instead of sitting still. If someone still wants a file, you've got an updated PDF for them anytime too.

Working with Kyle is a dream. He has that rare ability to take your vision beyond what you imagined while remaining completely true to its heart. A storyteller himself, he brings extraordinary insight, creativity, and care to every collaboration. He doesn't just understand what you're trying to communicate. He finds ways to make it even more compelling.

Shortly after working with Kyle to reimagine the pitch deck for my feature film VIOLET, the project secured a shopping agreement with a U.S.-based production company. I couldn't be more thrilled with both the collaboration and where the project is headed.

Asked this week? Rush it.

A producer, a manager or a financier just asked, and the deck you've got isn't ready to be the first thing they see. Standard delivery on Core or Premium is 10 business days from when you send your materials. Rush it: on Core or Premium, we put your deck live at its link in 72 hours. Starting from a blank page on Studio? We set the date with you.

Rush my deck

You built the deck.
We take it off the PowerPoint.

If a reader can tell it was made in slides, it's already lost ground. We start with what you've already got: your stills, your mood images, your footage and your words, just as you wrote them. Then we build it a home and set it in motion, one chapter at a time. Drag the line across to see a deck before and after.

What comes with every deck

BMX: the banner chapter, built from the film's own poster and stills
01

Yours, not the same deck as everyone else's

Decks built from the same stock frames and the same template fonts end up looking like each other. No AI images unless you ask for them. We recommend resources like ShotDeck before AI every time.

03

Locked, if you want it

Put a password on the whole deck, so only the people you send it to can get in.

Type your passcode, click any line, change it and save. It's live, and you didn't have to wait on us.

05

Chapters, with a menu down the side

Your deck reads as chapters, so a producer who only wants the characters jumps there, and someone else goes right to your director's statement.

06

Built for the phone

You never have to write 'best viewed on a desktop.' Someone opens your link on their phone at a festival or in the back of a car, and every chapter is laid out for that screen from the start, so nothing gets squished.

07

Your footage, playing right on the page

Loops cut from your film, trailer or test footage. Your trailer, your storyboard animatic, a short intro of you pitching the film. It all plays inside the deck, so nobody has to click away.

08

A PDF when someone asks

Some people still want a file they can forward, print or drop on a thumb drive. Ask, and we'll make a clean PDF from the live page and send it over.

Directed by a working director

Treat the deck as the first thing you direct for this film. It should look like the budget you're asking for, and it should show the reader your taste and your attention to detail before they've read a word. That's the question in Kyle's head on every page: what does the reader see first, and does it make them keep going? Kyle Cassie designs and directs every deck. 28 years in film; 90+ productions directed and produced across LA, New York, London, Berlin and Vancouver.

The work

You asked to see a real one. Here are 3, live. Click through.

A deck is a door opener, not a deal maker. Here's what we build next.

After the deck, the next thing anyone sees is you, explaining the film into a laptop camera. The people deciding are backing a filmmaker as much as a story, and your pitch is the one piece of this you can't delegate. So we treat it like a shoot, and Kyle directs it. 28 years in film; 90+ productions directed and produced across LA, New York, London, Berlin and Vancouver.

Director's pitch film
We shoot your pitch to camera the way we'd shoot a scene: directed, lit, framed, cut tight. It becomes the centerpiece of the deck.
Crowdfunding launch
That pitch film becomes your campaign video, and we run the paid ads aimed at backers.
Audience before the film
We cut the same interview into short vertical posts and ads, and build toward a following and an email list.

None of it needs footage. It needs you, on camera, directed.

Questions

I was asked for a pitch deck. What do I send them?

A link. If you've already got a deck, Core gives it a home and a link you can send. If you've got nothing yet but the film in your head, that's Studio, and we build the deck with you from a blank page. Either way, the person who asked gets a link that opens on their phone, and a PDF if they want one. If they asked this week, see the rush option below.

How long should it be?

Core runs up to 10 chapters. Because the menu down the side lets a reader jump straight to the chapter they want, a deck doesn't have to be long to be complete. On Studio we decide the chapters and the order with you.

What's the difference between a pitch deck and a lookbook?

People use the 2 words differently and argue about it, so ask the person who requested it what they mean. A pitch deck carries the story and the ask as well. We build either one the same way, as a living website.

PDFs or interactive web decks?

Both. Your deck lives at a link that opens on a phone or a laptop, with your footage playing on the page and a menu for jumping between chapters. When someone wants a file, ask us and we'll make a clean PDF from the live page. You never have to write "best viewed on a desktop."

Do you put any of the financials in a pitch deck?

On Core and Premium we build what's in your deck, so that's your call. Studio includes an investor section: a budget overview, comparables and the financing route, shaped with you.

Someone asked for my pitch deck. How fast can you have it ready?

Standard delivery on Core or Premium is 10 business days from when you send your materials. If that's too long, rush puts the deck live at its link in 72 hours. You send what you've got, we build the home and the link, and the person who asked gets a link that opens on their phone. Studio starts from a blank page with you, so on Studio we set the rush date together.

Is it all right to use some AI for your film pitch deck, or does it feel cheap?

We don't use it unless you ask for it. The people you're sending the deck to don't agree about AI images, and some of them say they'll pass the moment they spot one. We recommend resources like ShotDeck before AI every time. If you want AI imagery in your deck, tell us and it's your call.

Get in touch

Pitch us like we're at the bar after a screening.

Don't polish it, a few lines is plenty. If the film has a site, or you do, drop the link so we know who we're talking to. We read every one and reply by email.
